Learn to take better everyday photos TIP #5

Do you wonder what you can change to make your photos a little better for your fridge, scrap book, photo albums, or to even post on social media?

I'll be sharing some tips over the next few weeks to help you take better everyday images that you can be proud of.
 Todays Tip is
How to shoot in full sun

Today is a fairly easy tip.  The best tip I could give you to shoot on a full sun sunny day, is get out of the sun and into the shade.  Well sometimes I know it is harder then it looks.  So how do you shoot in the sun when you don't have any shade to go to?  you turn them so your subjects face is not in the sun.  For

example, the top photo the sun is almost right on top and to the right of the children,  it is giving off horrible shadows on half their face and eyes.  The middle image is a little better but the sun in front of them is still giving off a bad shadow in their eyes, under the hat, and under their noses.  And the child is squinting.  The man in the photo is cheating and using glasses.  I really had no choice in this photo though we were vacationing in Yellowstone and I wanted to take a picture of them with the beautiful background and the sun was unforgiving that day.  On the third photo I turned him so the sun was behind him, no harsh shadows!!!  We now have an eye pleasing no harsh shadow image. So remember get into the shade or if there is no shade simply turn your subject so the sun is behind them.

That is all for the tips, 5 weeks worth whoa, thank you for joining me on this journey!!!   I'm so happy I could help you take better photos that you love and be proud to show off.  Make sure you subscribe to my page, its right there at the top.  I will be sharing more of my personal photography journey, my photo shoots and some more tips later in the year.

Whats on your photography bookshelf?

Some of the most useful books that I have are these two books.  Understanding Exposure helped me out when I was just beginning.  The book of Legal Forms I use all the time and keep it on hand for references.      Some more books I use all the time are the 500 posing series.  I look over them almost every session I have to get fresh ideas.    These next two are older books that were given to me early in my photography journey.  Photographing Children is not one that I would recommended today.  It's outdated and has some controversial images for today's world.   The Art of Black and White Photography is outdated but has some really good information and some great black and white photos.  I love a good black and white.     What photography books do love and hate? No Script

Sitting here trying to think of my first blog post. I think I will just leave ya'll with this quote. I have no script, nothing planned out, just living day to day doing what I love, soaking in all the knowledge I can.
